Upon popular demand – my slides of today

Presentation on “Every consumer is a business user is a consumer”. Audience was a large group of CIO’s of large Belgian companies and my mission was to convince them of the fact that Consumers (and especially the Gen-Y people entering their companies) will drive their IT infrastructure innovation over the next years. And also make them realize they play a key role in the success or failure of their company the next years to come.

Microsoft Courier – who wants an iTablet ???

Courier is a real device, and we've heard that it's in the "late prototype" stage of development. It's not a tablet, it's a booklet. The dual 7-inch (or so) screens are multitouch, and designed for writing, flicking and drawing with a stylus, in addition to fingers. They're connected by a hinge that holds a single iPhone-esque home button. Statuses, like wireless signal and battery life, are displayed along the rim of one of the screens. On the back cover is a camera, and it might charge through an inductive pad, like the Palm Touchstone charging dock for Pre.

I needed a full Hosted Exchange account with full mobile and web access. Did some surfing and bumped into Combell who had the right price and features. I must admit I am impressed by their site, the way to create the accounts and the free domain name included. And all of this for 10,00 Euro a month. Way to go. Can only recommend them….

Apple iPod Outsold By Walkman In Japan For The First Time In Four Years

Sony's (SNE) Walkman digital music player outsold Apple's (AAPL) iPod in Japan for the first time since 2005, Bloomberg reports, citing numbers by electronics research firm BCN Inc.
